Relacom focuses on northern Europe
- divests Spanish operations as a first step.
Oct.6, 2011: Relacom's strategy is to offer services within M2M systems and for the data, telecom and electrical networks that enable this equipment to function. Relacom's technicians conduct close to a million customer visits a year, which also makes these technicians the extended arm of operators and thereby an important factor in end-customer satisfaction.
Relacom's strategy is adapted for the northern European market. For this reason, its presence and investments in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Poland will be emphasized. One result of this new focus is that operations in Spain, Latin America and Asia will be wound down in an orderly manner.
The first step has been taken with the sell of Relacom's Spanish operations (which operated under the name Cotronic) to the Italian company Sielte, which is active within the same industry. All employees and on-going customer contracts have been taken over by Sielte.
Spanish operations have developed well under Relacom's ownership and have good profitability. The business has had top rankings in quality surveys over the past four years.
The agreement with Sielte is effective from Sept.15, 2011.
